About Me

Carpe Diem.

Taken from the movie, “ Dead Poets Society” by Robin Williams (Hollywood), this two-word phrase reflects my ways towards life. Admittedly not everyone’s type of guy, I have committed myself to take every opportunity that comes my way, believing that I would someday benefit from it.

I am in a constant roller coaster ride. Finishing a degree in Computer Engineering, finding a stable job, and yes, putting up my own internet café do not guarantee that I have had an easy life. To give a short glimpse about my past, let’s take a tour on some important highlights.

*Sisters of Mary School Boystown ( SOM ) – Cavite

I graduated valedictorian in Elementary but had no clear vision if I could pursue with my High School education. It was really fortunate that SOM exists with the noble mission of preparing the youth for the life ahead. So from Paracale, Camarines Norte ( Bicol ) to Cavite, my life changed; new inspiration; new self; new dreams; new hope. In here, I have discovered myself more – I am inclined with the computer works.

First Jobs

Call it fate, destiny, pure luck, or just mere coincidence – I got hired as a stay- in warehouse tender when my drafted bio- data was accidentally inserted in an envelope of resumes in one of SOM’s job fair missions where I gave assistance to the applicants.

For a 16-year-old who had his first job ever, I was very enthusiastic and inspired. But I got pissed off with my senior co- workers for the unfair treatment but I now realized that if not for them I wouldn't be where I am now.
I also got the chance to work as a “pahinante” ( driver’s assistant ).

Hello, College Life!

Because of a friend’s advice, I planned to take up college even though I wasn’t so sure of it for financial unstability. It was more of believing I can. Determined to finish my studies, I asked my parents and urged them to grab the chance.

My family had to move from Camarines to Quezon City to save resources. Life wasn’t really easy. My mother had to sell “kakanin” and smoked fish to help father make both ends meet. And I had to be a part time computer technician and a student assistant so that a P200.00 allowance could last for two weeks.

As of the present, I work as a software development analyst in a big telecommunication company. My life is somehow stable now; something which I thought would be impossible everytime my stomach growls because breakfast is the only meal I could afford to have..and yes, I have more than P200.00 now to last me and my family for more than two weeks.

The Lord will give you of what you can only manage, but be ready to take the helm as you dream for more.
